HAWC - Healing Abuse Working for Change, formerly known as Help for Abused Women and their Children, was founded in 1978. Since then HAWC delivered free services to victims of domestic violence. Today we continue to develop and expand our services in our unyielding effort to find more effective ways to prevent domestic violence. Our hotline is available 24 hours each day. Staff and volunteers can be accessed in hospitals, courtrooms, police departments and classrooms. No one deserves to live in fear and together we can and will stop the violence.
HAWC's Mission:
The purpose of HAWC is to create social change by taking action against personal and societal patterns of violence and oppression. HAWC provides services and support to victims of domestic violence residing in 23 cities and towns on Massachusetts' North Shore in order that they may make informed, independent decisions about their futures.
